Why Get Pre-Approved

What does being
"pre-approved" mean?

Getting pre-approved, other wise known as a “prequalification,” starts the loan application process. The lender checks your credit, ability to pay, and determines the ideal size and type of loan you qualify for. You’ll need this to submit an offer on most homes, so getting it out of the way quickly is suggested.

Once you are pre-approved you will…

  • know what price range you can afford.
  • be able to make an offer as soon as you find a home you like.
  • see potential credit problems early, so you can address them up front.
  • have more negotiating power.
  • provide sellers extra confidence in working with you.
